Gray, Virgil F.Virgil F. Gray, age 73, of the Town of Saratoga, passed away Thursday August 17, 2017 at his residence.Visitation for Virgil will be held from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Monday August 21, 2017 at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa. A prayer service will follow the visitation hours with military rites provided by the Nekoosa
VFW Post 5960. Burial will take place at a later date at Green Hill Cemetery in Nekoosa, Wisconsin. Virgil was born on August 11, 1944 in the Town of Saratoga to the late Clifford and Vera (McNutt) Gray. He served his country honorably as a member of the U.S. Air Force and was deployed overseas to Vietnam. Virgil was employed at Nekoosa Papers for 29 years and 11 months , retiring on August 1, 1999.Virgil enjoyed helping others out in many different capacities. He enjoyed his time spent assisting local charitable organizations wherever help was needed. Virgil was an avid camper and liked to spend time outdoors turkey hunting. His favorite times were those spent being with his siblings, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Virgil is survived by his children Scott (Leslie) Gray of Wisconsin Rapids, Stephanie (Tim) Engelien of Wisconsin Rapids and Travis Gray of Wisconsin Rapids; 8 grandchildren Paige Parvin, Zach Gray, Michelle Gray, Gavin (Bree) Getsinger, Hailey Lundquist, Victoria Getsinger, Caleb Lundquist and Joseph Wilson; 2 great-grandchildren Lilly and Noa; brothers Leland Gray of Nekoosa and Kenny Gray of Beaver Dam; sisters Sharon (Gary) Winker of Nekoosa, Kathy (Robert) Jinkerson of Wisconsin Rapids and Rhonda Wosick of Nekoosa.He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Stacie Lundquist, brother Keith Lewis, sisters Jean Richardson, Cherryl Schwartz and Caroline Gray; brother-in-law Charles Wosick. Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa, Wisconsin is assisting the family with arrangements.
