Virginia Irene GawronskiLansingAge 90, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Virginia was born on April 22, 1926, the daughter of Karl and Lilia Weeber in Lansing, MI. Virginia was a 1944 graduate of JW Sexton High School and 1948 graduate of Michigan State College with a Bachelor of Arts - Education. She worked for the Lansing School District between 1948-1954 in elementary education.She married Frank Gawronski on March 8, 1952. They enjoyed 39 years of marriage until his passing in August 1991. During her life, she was a stay-at-home mom. She volunteered at Ingham Medical Center for the Messenger Service for 39 years. Virginia also was a Girl Scout Troop Leader from 1971-1978. She enjoyed traveling especially to Disneyland and Walt Disney World. She enjoyed roller coasters well into her 70s. In her spare time, she would work in her rose garden.She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Gawronski, parents, and brother Carlyle Weeber. She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Pamela S. Patterson and Jill K. Gawronski, and beloved pets Tristan and Kirby Gawronski, and India, Maggie and Lily Patterson of Lansing.A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 24, 2017, at Evergreen Cemetery, Lansing. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Virginia may be made to MSU Endowment Fund, 620 Farm Lane, Ste 513, East Lansing, MI 48824 or the Capital Area Humane Society.
