Virgnia Katherine Kraft, 84Go Tell Everyone, the Good news that the Kingdom of God has come!Virginia Katherine Kraft, 84, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 in her new home in Woodland Park, CO. Virginia was born on May 23, 1929 in Lafayette, IN to George and Geneva McDoniels. In 1949 she married Harvey Cable; they separated in 1973. In 1974 she married Louis Kenneth Kraft (deceased in 2011). Virginia worked for the Lafayette School Corporation for 30 years, retiring in 1987. With her longtime friend and partner Mary Catherine Sommer, Virginia opened The Spinning Wheel; this was the area's first yarn shop and was located in downtown Lafayette. Virginia was renowned for her Craftwork. Of all her skills from Calligraphy to Quilting, Cross-stitch to Embroidery, her first love and the craft she was particularly known for was knitting. Her hand knit gifts, instantly became treasures to pass down through generations, for the family, friends and co-workers she shared them with. Virginia was extremely talented musically as well. She was both Organist and later Youth Choir Director for Grace Church, from 1964 to 1973. During this period, Virginia created many contemporary worship services, which incorporated instruments and choreography and introduced them to a congregation that had never seen the like before. The Grace Church youth choir travelled the Midwest for several years, drawing many to delight in these services.Virginia loved the Lord with all of her heart and served Him faithfully. Her entire life was shaped by her dedication and devotion to service. She touched countless lives and was well-known for her compassionate and generous spirit. Her spirit and joy in praising God, inspired many young children and teens to actively embrace their own faith and service to our Lord.Virginia is survived by her son Randy Cable and her daughter-in-law Carol Forsberg; step sons Randy and Tim Kraft, 9 grandchildren and shortly after her passing, the arrival of her fourth great grandchild. She is missed and mourned by the numerous friends who loved her and all those whose lives she touched.In accordance with her wishes, Virginia was cremated and there was no Funeral Service held. She left no instructions for Memorial donations to be made in her name.
