Virginia M. Hoblick (Ginny) passed away November 24, 2016. Ginny is survived by Ken Hoblick, her husband and sweetheart of 58 years. She is survived by children Becky Finn (Mike) Longwood, Brian Hoblick (Jill) Alachua, John Hoblick (Kara) DeLeon Springs, Jeff Hoblick (Cindy) DeLeon Springs, Nancy Kacmarcik (sister), Gerry Resnik (brother), grandchildren, Eric Finn, Carson Finn, Hagen Morin, Johnny Hoblick, Kyla Hoblick, Kelsey Hoblick, Charlie Hoblick, Jack Hoblick, Austin Ward, Brooke Ward, and great granddaughter, Jordyn Finn. She was preceded in death by Jake Hoblick (grandson). Additionally, Ginny leaves behind countless friends and loved ones who will miss her dearly. Ginny was born on October 26, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio to Cyril and Helen Resnik. She married Ken in 1958. Ginny moved to DeLand with Ken and family in 1968 and founded Hoblick Greens. She had a wonderful life that included becoming the first female president of the DeLand YMCA. Additionally, she was an active member of the Volusia County Farm Bureau Woman's Committee, a longtime member of the Morning Glory Garden Circle and previous member of the Jr. Women's Club of DeLand. She was most remembered for more than 25 years of service to the First Baptist Church of DeLeon Springs in her capacity as a children's Sunday School teacher. Ginny's hobbies and daily motivation was gardening, cooking and sharing her love, friendship and goodwill towards others. Above all, she loved Ken, her children, grandchildren and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Visitation will be at Allen Summerhill Memorial Chapel, DeLand, from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, and the funeral is scheduled for Wednesday, November 30th, 2016 at 10:00 am at DeLeon Springs First Baptist Church. Service will be officiated by both Reverend Mel Himes and Reverend Dennis Littleton. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery on Johnson Lake Road, DeLeon Springs, with a reception to follow at the Fellowship Hall at First Baptist.
