Virginia "Jean" MeylianDecember 28, 1930 - June 24, 2017 Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Rose Meylian will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the Hineston Tabernacle with Reverends Alvin Robinson and Jeff Scroggins officiating. Interment will follow in Fellowship Methodist Cemetery, Hineston, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale. Virginia "Jean" Meylian, 86, of Hineston, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 24, 2017 in Alexandria, LA. During her life she worked at Fort Polk, Oakhill High School and Fair Oaks Nursing Home. Jean was born on December 28, 1930 in Glenmora to the union of Ira William and Levi Lambright James. She will be greatly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Levi James; her husband of sixty seven years, Odis Meylian; two brothers, Nealon James and Don Gene James and five sisters, Ona Lee Walding, Naomi Hays, Vada Rae Hagan Marlin, Shirley Courville and Velva Lynn James. Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her five sons, Wayne Meylian, of Hineston, Nelon Meylian and his wife, Wendy, of Boyce, Noland Meylian, of Hineston, Doland Meylian, of Hineston and Dale Meylian and his wife, Donna, of Hineston; one daughter, Sheila Dorsey and her husband, Larry, of Elmer; two grandchildren, C.J. Dorsey, of Elmer and Daleigha Meylian, of Hineston; one great granddaughter, Kyleigh Dorsey, of Elmer and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call the Hineston Tabernacle on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Visitation will reopen on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. until time of service. Pallbearers honored to serve are: Marty Walding, Stanley Walding, Tim Stokes, David Carroll, Max Bonnette, Eddie Honeycutt and Billy Scarbrock.
