CHATHAM, Va. - Virginia Carlton Myers , 90, of 305 Hunter Road, Chatham, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022, at her residence. Born April 17, 1932, in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Howard Myers Sr. and Rosa Edwards Myers. She was a member of the Callands Missionary Baptist Church. She was married to the late Norman King. She is survived by four daughters, Deborah Thompson and Lisa Gladden of Danville, Audrey Grant of Axton and Laurie Hodnett of the residence; six sons, Norman King Jr., the Rev. William Lloyd King and Earlevon King, all of Chatham, Carl King of the residence; Leroy King of Nathalie and Thomas Leon King of Greensboro; two sisters, Addie Nibblett of Chatham and Roberta Petty of Washington, D.C.; and 20 grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two sons, Gregory and Ronnie Garry King; three sisters, Marie Goggins, Curtis Fuller and Frances Peterson; and seven brothers, Howard, Coleman, Walter, Gloice, Vernon, Jim and Sada Myers. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug.19 , at the Callands Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Obadele St. George officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Viewing and visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home. Miller Funeral Home, Gretna is in charge of arrangements.
