Virginia Imelda Pasillas, 64, passed away on November 5, 2017, in her home surrounded by her family. Virginia, the eldest of ten siblings, was born on May 21, 1953, in Aguascalientes, Mexico, to Juan Olmos and Guadalupe Cornejo. She grew up in El Paso, Texas, and spent childhood summers in Aguascalientes. She graduated from El Paso High School in 1972 and married Manuel Pasillas in 1975. Virginia was a devout Catholic with an unwavering faith. In her professional life, she worked for decades as a restaurant manager. She enjoyed sharing many laughs with family and friends and doted on her grandchildren. Virginia was an amazing cook, and an avid gardener who enjoyed travel, new experiences, and finding beauty in daily life. She was a woman ahead of her time. Virginia is survived by her husband, Manuel; daughters, Becky Pasillas & Lizette Pasillas, and son, Manuel Pasillas, Jr.; grandchildren, Natalie Virginia, Marisa Emi, Ariana Isabel, Guillermo Silvestre, Joaquin Miguel, Evangeline Virginia, & soon-to-be-born Emmanuel Andres; and sons-in-law, Mark Engle & David Galvez, and daughter-in-law, Jaismin Pasillas. Visitation will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina, from 4-8PM on Sunday, November 12, 2017 with a Vigil at 6PM. Funeral mass will be held at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 408 Park St, at 9:30AM, Monday, November 13, 2017, and followed by burial at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
