"Ginny" Virginia Ruth FredricksonNaples, FLVirginia "Ginny" Ruth Fredrickson, age 93, of Naples, Florida, passed away April 14, 2017 at Avow Hospice. She was born on April 10, 1924 in New Britain, Connecticut to Oscar and Alma (Nelson) Anderson. Beloved wife of the late Walter I.F. Fredrickson, Sr. Loving mother of Walter Jr., James (Karen), and John (Lora), and the late Karen Tucker. Dear grandmother of Marissa, Bryan, Kelly, Marc, Christopher, Todd, Chad, Taylor, Sheyla, Margaret, and George. Great-grandmother of six. Ginny was also preceded in death by all of her siblings, Mildred, Roger, Robert, and Eric.Ginny and her family relocated to Naples from New Britain, CT in 1957 and Walter and Ginny purchased the Cadillac Amoco Service Station across from Howard Johnson's where they operated for many years. Ginny began her banking career working for Mamie Tooke at the Bank of Naples, which was later purchased by Barnett Bank, at which she became an officer and retired after more than 30 years of service.A celebration of Ginny's life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Wed., April 19, 2017 at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens, 525 111th Ave. N., Naples, FL 34108. Inurnment will immediately follow in the Naples Memorial Gardens Cemetery.In memory of Ginny Fredrickson, memorial contributions may be made to Moose Heart, The Salvation Army, or Avow Hospice.
