Virginia Ruth (Hannahs, Sprankle) Knapp, age 82, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2015, at the Clarion Hospital in Clarion, PA. She was born on March 15, 1933, in Bradford PA, to the late Howard and Beatrice (Smith) Hannahs. On May 26, 1973, she married Charles C. Knapp in Sigel, PA. She was a homemaker for Charles most recently but formerly she worked as a house keeper at the Brookville Hospital for many years, and she also worked in the Jefferson County Court House. She was a member of the Brookville Eagles Club and held the position of Mother for the Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Fireman's Club. She liked playing Bingo, enjoyed camping when she was able to do so, and she would travel with her Charles, wherever he would take her. She loved her poodle Ozzy and spent a lot of time spoiling him. In addition to her husband she is survived by 1 brother, William "Bill" Hannahs of Bradford, PA; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 1 sister-in-law, Elaine Hannahs, and her adopted father, Morris Jack Sprankle. Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8pm, on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at the McKinney - d'Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville, PA, 15825. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 24, 2015, also at the McKinney - d'Argy Funeral Home, beginning at 11:00am, with the Rev. Kevin Bockus officiating.
