KENDALLVILLE — Von Alan Hudson, age 40, of Kendallville, passed away on Monday, Feb. 22, 2016. Mr. Hudson was born on Oct. 14, 1975 in Auburn, Indiana, to Ford W. Hudson and Oleta E. (Hankey) Conklin. He graduated from Eastside High School in 1993. Von worked for over 20 years as a glazer for both Haney's Glass of Kendallville and Auburn and City Glass of Fort Wayne. He was an artist and made several paintings and wood working pieces. One of his accomplishments was his creation of a desk for his niece that has a peacock design with stained glass in the middle of the desk. Von loved nature and enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, walking and camping. He was a very loving father and wonderful brother. Survivors include his father, Ford W. Hudson of Butler; his mother, Oleta E. (Hankey) Conklin of Florida; a daughter, Zoei Hudson of Kendallville; a sister, Shelly Bontrager of Millersburg; a niece, Natasha and Ken Overmyer of Nappannee; a nephew, Jarin Bontrager of Millersburg; and many aunts, uncle and cousins. Von was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hubert and Iris Hudson and Vern and Fern Hankey; an aunt, Susan Hudson; and an uncle, Jerry Hudson. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at 1 p.m., with visitation one-hour prior at noon at Hite Funeral Home, 403 S. Main St., Kendallville.
