ANGOLA — Waldo W. Henderson, 92, died Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at his home in Angola with his family at his side. He was a farmer and worked at Dana Weatherhead, Angola, for 36 years, retiring on March 1, 1986. He enjoyed hunting with his sons and friends, fishing, garage sales and playing cards. He never knew a stranger and always loved sharing all of his hunting experiences, either about the big animal he got or the one that got away.
Waldo was born on March 11, 1923, in rural DeKalb County to Lloyd Sherman and Fern (Powell) Henderson. He married Hazel Hall on August 31, 1974. Surviving are his wife, Hazel Henderson of Angola; two sons, Albert Leroy (Bonnie) Henderson of Orland and Carl Wayne (Rose) Henderson of Angola; three daughters, Linda (Aaron) Pfafman of LaGrange, Brenda (Phil) DeRosia of Ormond Beach, Florida, and Linda Sue (Alan) Stetzel of Angola; a daughter-in-law, Barbara J. Henderson of Orland; 18 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Billy Joe Henderson on June 7, 2013, and Steven Alan Berryhill on October 8, 2000; one grandson, Ricky Joe Henderson on April 30, 2007; a brother, Leo Henderson; and two great-granddaughters.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2015, at the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, with Pastor Mike Hamm officiating. Burial will be in Flint Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2015, and from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
