He was born on June 3, 1938, the only son of Walter "Phil" Boyler and Olga Bosko Boyler.Walt was lifelong resident of New Jersey residing in Sayreville, South River and Manahawkin. He attended Sayreville schools, graduating from Sayreville High School and going on to attend Rutgers University. He graduated from Rider College in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science in Education and Seton Hall University in 1965 with a Master of Arts in Education.He leaves behind his beloved wife, Mary Ann Papuzynski Boyler with whom he has had a storybook marriage of 56 years. It all started when they met in high school at a square dance at Campbell School put on by the Russian Church in South River. He never lost that look of love in his eyes when they were together. His family includes a daughter, Donna Boyler Aiudi. her husband Michael Aiudi of Glastonbury CT , a son, Marc Walter Boyler of Monmouth Junction, NJ and his companion, Wendy Pearl. His grandchildren include Katherine DiScipio Miller and her husband Michael Miller, Christopher Aiudi, Tess Bridget Boyler , Jackson Wyatt Boyler, Michael Aiudi Jr., Matthew Pearl and Valerie Pearl. He also leaves a sister-in-law, Rosemary Papuzynski Erickson of New York City who was like a sister to him. All feel extremely blessed to have had his wonderful man in their lives.Walter devoted his life to the field of education first as a business teacher and guidance counselor in East Brunswick. He went on to become Director of Guidance and Student Personnel Services. Before retiring, Walter served as Principal of Campbell School and Willett School and South River Elementary School in South River NJ. He was a member of the Conklin United Methodist Church in South River where he and his wife married in 1961. He was also active in a number of organizations. Walter was the former president of the South River Lions. He was also a member of the Philo Lodge 243 Masonic Lodge of South River, the Scottish Rite Free Masonry Valley of Central Jersey, the Crescent Shriners of Westhampton NJ, the Elks of Manahawkin, the Stafford Old Guard of Manahawkin and the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association. Walt enjoyed music and sports. He was a very smooth dancer, having been voted best dancer in his high school class and enjoyed singing. He loved to sing along and listen to his favorite singer, Frank Sinatra and to the Big Bands. He was an avid golfer and spent lots of time watching his favorite teams -- the Mets and the Giants while enjoying a beer with friends and family. His clever joking and teasing along with a friendly debate on many subjects will be missed by so many people.
