GRIFTON | Wanda Irene Sink Cox, 86, of Grifton, passed away peacefully at her home after a long courageous battle with Parkinson's disease on November 20, 2014. She was born on October 21, 1928, in High Point, North Carolina to Ivy and Esther Sink. Irene was preceded in death by her parents and younger brother, Bobby Sink. Irene is survived by her husband of 57 years, John Cox of the home; one daughter, Melissa Rouse and husband Ricky, of Grifton; and one son, David Cox of Greenville, N.C. She also leaves behind one special granddaughter, Melane Williams of Grifton; a grandson, Blake Cox and wife Amber; and one great-grandson, Lucas Cox, all of Greenville. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Grifton FWB Church with a visitation one hour prior to the service at 2 p.m. at the church. The family will also receive friends at other times at the home of Melissa and Ricky Rouse, 6243 Brassie Dr., Grifton, NC. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Estates.
