WORTHVILLE, Ky. – Wanda Jean Godman Arnold, 78, of Worthville, Ky., died Monday evening, Nov. 7, 2016, at the Autumn Woods Health Campus in New Albany, Ind. She was born on Oct. 18, 1938, in Sanders, Ky., the daughter of the late Cal B. Godman and Lillian Marie Purnell. Most of her life was spent being a housewife and a farm wife at their farm in Worthville. She had served for many years on the Carroll County Democratic Committee and also the Worthville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Hunton Sexton of Carrollton, Ky., Cynthia Hunton Werner and her husband, Dr. Joseph Werner of Prospect, Ky., and Angelique Hunton Parker of Milton, Ky.; a sister, Alene Gordy Turner of Worthville; two brothers, Melvin Gordy of Shelbyville, Ind., and Robert Gordy and his wife, Betty of Warrenton, N.C.; six grandchildren, Ginny and her husband, Billy Lair of Carrollton, Ky., Jason and his wife, Wendy Campbell of Louisville, Ky., Brian Parker of Milton, Ky., Sam Parker of Frankfort, Ky., and Abigail and Arabella Werner, both of Prospect; two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Brayden Lair, both of Carrollton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cal B. Godman and Lillian Marie Purnell Gordy; her step-father, Robert Lee Gordy; her husband, Albert Cottrell "Shab" Arnold; two sisters, Rose Godman and Hazel Wiggelsworth; four brothers, William and Charles Godman and Ralph and Everett Gordy; and a great-grandson, Nicholas Lair. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016, at the Family Worship Center with the Rev. Pat Butcher officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in the Moffett Cemetery in Milton, Ky. Arrangements are entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
