Wanda Lee (Bayman) Clevenger, 78Albany - Wanda Lee (Bayman) Clevenger, age 78, passed away Sunday October 29, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on May 12, 1939, the daughter of S.W. "Pete" and Lillian M. (Goff) Bayman. She married her high school sweetheart, James D. Clevenger, Sr. on June 29, 1958. Married fifty-nine years, they raised four children and lived in the Albany area all their lives. The couple owned and operated Jim Clevenger Digging & Landscaping, J & W Storage, as well as other business, farm, and rental properties. Wanda's life was marked by a deep love for her family, her church, and her community. A member of Albany United Methodist Church, she served in numerous capacities. She and Jim oversaw the operation of the church food pantry for many years, and Wanda sang in the choir. Along with her sisters Darlene and Shirley, they performed as the "Bayman Sisters". Wanda was a Certified Emergency Medical Technician and volunteered eighteen years with the local EMS department, where she served both as an officer for many years as well as a member of the Board of Directors. She was a CPR Instructor for the American Heart Association and belonged to the Delta Theta Tau sorority. Always involved with her children, she volunteered with the Albany Girls Softball League, and she and Jim were involved in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts in Albany. Wanda never missed a sporting event that involved her children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren. She was an avid fan of the Indiana Pacers, Indianapolis Colts, and professional tennis. Wanda loved to travel, and with her husband and family members visited all fifty states, Canada, Mexico, and parts of Europe. She loved the ocean and spent the last thirty years visiting St. Augustine Beach each spring. She was the type of person that we all wish we could be and gave of herself endlessly whenever called upon by family or friend.Wanda leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband: James D. Clevenger, Sr.; three sons: James D. Clevenger, Jr. (wife: Laura), Albany, Timothy L. Clevenger (wife: Dianna), Westfield, and Joseph Brent Clevenger (husband: Emery), Columbus, IN; a daughter: Teena L. DiBiasio (husband: Gino), Albany; five grandchildren: Tisha M. Walker (husband: Dusty), Albany, JoBeth D. Clevenger (fiance: Alex), Greenwood, Austin M. Clevenger, Westfield, Katarina L. DiBiasio, Albany, and Samantha L. DiBiasio, Albany; two great-grandchildren: Logan and Laura Walker; sister-in-law: Ruthanna Lehman; two brothers-in-law: Kenny Bullock and Lowell King, and several nieces & nephews.She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother: Jack Bayman, three sisters: Betty Lou King, Shirley Bullock, and Darlene Gleeson; a sister-in-law: Bonnie Bayman, and a brother-in-law: Gene Gleeson.Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Albany United Methodist Church.
