Warren Stephen GoldJanuary 14, 1939 - February 05, 2017VisaliaWarren S. Gold passed away on February 5, 2017 after a long illness. He was the oldest child of Samuel and Beatrice Gold. He was born on January 14, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York. After graduating from high school at The Milford School in Connecticut, he went on to Hartwick College. He then transferred to New York University where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Economics. While at Hartwick he was on the school's first soccer team where he received his letter in sports. After graduating from New York University, he worked as a stockbroker in New York City with his father and uncle and was later joined by his younger brother and brother-in-law. In 1960, while living in New York he married for the first time and had five children. In 1967, he moved with his family to Arizona where he started his own brokerage firm. Later he remarried and had another son, after trying the single life for a few years, he again married and with his wife Sandra, they raised 11 children. In 1988, after most of the children were on their own, he moved with his wife and youngest two sons to Visalia, California where he lived until his death. Warren was active in the Knights of Pythias while in New York and Arizona and was a member of a conservative synagogue. While in Visalia, he was an active member of both Congregation Bnai David and Congregation Bait Shalom serving on both boards as a member and president. He enjoyed going to the senior center and playing cards with his friends. Warren was also a member of Philatelic Societies in both Arizona and California where he won several awards. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Sandra; sons, Stan Gold (Lindsay) of Oregon, Steven Hunt (Norma) of Visalia; daughter, Bethany Stonebraker (Saha) of Washington; stepchildren, Gordon Gadow Jr., (Natalie) in Georgia, Greg Gadow in Washing, Andrea Gadow of California and Gary Gadow (Jennifer) in New York and his other children are scattered across the country. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph Gold in Florida; sisters, Carolyn Schneider (Dave) of New York and Barbara Silverman (Paul) of Florida. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and he enjoyed going to their games and concerts. A funeral service will be held Monday, February 13, 2017 at Salser and Dillard Funeral Chapel at 10:30 AM and followed by a graveside service at Visalia District Cemetery.
