Watson Smythe Hall 1943 - 2017Watson (Watty) passed away peacefully with family by his side, on Monday, February 20, 2017 at St. Paul's Hospital.Watty was born on April 2, 1943 in Regina, the eldest of four children, to Grant and Dorothea Hall. He met his father when he was two upon his father's return from service in World War II. His family lived in Regina, Lethbridge, Calgary and Prince Albert. It was in Prince Albert that Watty met his love of over 50 years, Marilyn. They raised two devoted daughters, gained two sons-in-laws and four beautiful grandchildren.He had great pride in his beautiful home and yard and knew how to build or fix just about anything. He loved vacationing with family; Disneyland was one of his favourite destinations. Watty always had a special place in his heart for family pets; Fritzie, Buffy, Roxy and Kodi.Watty was a natural athlete and excelled in many sports but had a love for golf through which he made many lifelong friends. He was a long-time member of the Riverside Golf and Country Club in Saskatoon.Watty will be especially remembered for his sense of humor, wit, charisma, kind heart and zest for life. He was mischievous and always quick with a joke to bring out a laugh.He worked in the mechanical industry and met many people travelling throughout the province as part of his business. He was a Manufacturer's Sales Agent, owning and operating W.S. Hall Mechanical Sales until his retirement in 2009.Watty is lovingly remembered by his wife Marilyn, daughters Reni (Ken) Patsula and Wendy (Jason) Benson, grandchildren Tyler and Kelly Patsula and Riley and Brody Benson, his brothers Robert (Joan) and Terry (Mary Ann) and sister Brenda Solheim, mother-in-law Josephine Hollick, brother-in-law Barry Hollick and numerous nieces and nephews. Watty was predeceased by his father and mother Grant and Dorothea (Fyles) Hall and his father-in-law Walter Hollick.He lived his life with integrity, honor and dedicated to his family. It is those that fill our lives so much that are the hardest to let go. Remember him with a big smile and a laugh. At Watty's request, a private family memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Arrangements in care of Acadia McKague's Funeral Centre.
