Wayne (Snoopy) Larrett Landrum Jr., age 60 of Lexington, Virginia, passed away on December 20, 2025 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital due to unexpected illness, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on October 14, 1965, to Wayne (Winkie) L. Landrum Sr. and Charlotte M. Landrum of Evington, VA. Snoopy was preceded in death by both his parents and his sister, Ellie Waugh.
Snoopy was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, friendly nature, and infectious laughter. Snoopy had a deep love for his family and friends, and treasured all the times he spent with them. He worked for many years in Lynchburg, VA at Marvin V. Templeton & Sons, Inc. before opening his own garage (CRS), fulfilling his passion of being a mechanic. Later, Snoopy worked at W.E.L and at the local festivals, serving his homemade BBQ before moving to and working for the city of Lexington, VA. He was liked by many colleagues and customers. Outside of work and family, Snoopy had a passion for hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved the beach as well, and you’d often hear him talk of all the fun times he had in Nagshead. Snoopy also loved bowling, softball, and spending time with his dog, Rowdy, who went everywhere with him.
Snoopy is survived by his son, Garrett Wayne Landrum, stepdaughter, Charliene C. Tompkins (Artie), and grandson, Hunter Wayne Landrum. He’s also survived by his sister, Boe L. Yost (Barry), brother, Ronald E. Landrum (Sarah), niece, Desiree Bryant (John), nephews, Barry Yost Jr. (Michelle), Ronald Landrum Jr., Schyler C. Landrum, and several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Snoopy's warm and caring heart touched the lives of many and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He may be gone, but his memory will always live on in those he left behind. May he rest in peace.
A celebration of Snoopy’s life will be at 11am on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Norwood Baptist Church, 1045 Random Way Forest, VA 24551. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to his son, Garrett Landrum at 18516 Palisades Ridge Moseley, VA 23120 to help with final expenses.
