STEWARTSTOWN Wayne Blevins, 67, died October 12, 2014, at the Veterans Medical Center, Perry Point, Md. He was the husband of Brenda J. (Saylor) Blevins. Wayne and Brenda celebrated 14 years together on August 27, 2014. There will be a viewing from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown. The service will begin at 3 p.m. on Friday at the mortuary, with full military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. The Rev. Robert G. Blevins will officiate. He was born on September 24, 1947, in Stewartstown, a son of the late Everett L. and Mary Elizabeth (Ryan) Blevins. Wayne was a 1965 graduate of Kennard-Dale High School, Fawn Grove. He served in the
U.S. Air Force during the
Vietnam War and was a Life Member of
V.F.W. Post 4174, Lehigh Acres, Fla. He also was a member of the Assembly of God, Shrewsbury and a member of the South End Democratic Club. He was an independent truck driver from 2000-2007 and previously had been employed with Wells Brothers of York and Triangle Printing of York. He was employed part time with Blevins Fruit Farm from 2010-2014. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two nieces, Denise Blankenship and her husband, Richard of Stewartstown and Sonia Davis and her husband Casey, of Westminster, Md.; a nephew, Brian Hare and his wife, Lisa of York; five great-nephews and three great-nieces; a sister, Donna Hare and her husband, Dennis and one brother, Phil Smith and his wife Rodessa, both of Stewartstown; and a brother-in-law, James Wimert of Westminster, Md.
