Wayne Edgar Tonole, 76, died of complications related to Parkinson's disease on October 10, 2016, at the Shangri-La Home Care facility in Lynnwood, WA. Wayne was born on November 3, 1939, in Walden, Oregon, to Domenico and Thelma Tonole. He grew up in nearby Cottage Grove, OR graduating from Cottage Grove High School in 1957. Wayne attended Shasta College in Redding, California, where he played baseball. After college, he moved to the Seattle, WA area, where he lived most of his adult life. Wayne spent 35 years as a warehouseman, working for companies such as Boise Cascade, John L. Bird Office Supplies, and Klips Stationers. Outside of work, Wayne was an avid sports fan, particularly baseball and University of Oregon football. He also coached women's softball teams for many years in the 1970s and '80s. Wayne is survived by his sons, Greg Tonole (Seattle) and Jeff Tonole (Ithaca, NY), daughter-in-law, Kim Weeden; grandson, Quinn Tonole, and former spouse, Peggy Tonole. A remembrance gathering for Wayne will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on November 12, 2016, at the Watershed Pub & Kitchen, 10104 3rd Avenue NE, in Seattle.
