Obituary: Wendell Phillips (04/06/1951 - 09/15/2023)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wendell Phillips, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Wendell was born on April 6, 1951, in Fresno, California, to his parents Leamon Phillips and Palestine Phillips. He also had four sisters and one brother, Linda, Lavada, Carol Ann, and Kathy she proceeded him in death and one brother terry.
Wendell was a devoted family man and deeply cherished by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength. Wendell was a loving father to his three children: Wendell Phillips Jr. and his spouse Angelica Phillips, Tyrone Phillips and his spouse Jacqueline Phillips, and Shawn Phillips. His children meant the world to him, and he loved them unconditionally.
In addition to being a wonderful father, Wendell was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren, Kane,Tyrone jr, Tremain, Khalil, and Amani each grandchild held a special place in his heart. He was actively involved in their lives and loved spending time with them, creating beautiful memories that will be cherished forever.
Wendell received his education at Washington Union High School, graduating in 1969. He valued knowledge and continuously sought opportunities to learn and grow throughout his life.
Professionally, Wendell worked as a truck driver. He excelled in his career and displayed unwavering dedication and commitment to his work. His strong work ethic and reliability made him highly respected among his colleagues and peers.
Sadly, Wendell's battle with cancer came to an end on September 15, 2023, as he peacefully passed away. Although his departure leaves a void in the lives of those who loved him, the memories of his kind heart and gentle spirit will forever remain etched in their minds.
Wendell Phillips' presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to live on. May he find eternal peace, and may his family and friends find solace in the loving memories they shared with him. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family during this difficult time.
