Vandertie, Wilbur F.Wilbur F. Vandertie, 91, Algoma passed away on May 3, 2017 at Algoma Long Term Care. Wilbur was born on September 17, 1925 to the late Frank and Emily (Rankin) Vandertie. He married Laverne Wautlet on June 25, 1947 at St. Huberts, Rosiere. She preceded him in death on November 27, 2006. Wilbur spent his life as a farmer, working in a shipyard and working for Liebman's Meat Processing. He enjoyed playing card and he loved his horses. He had Belgian draft horses and his beloved Sally who was a quarter horse.Wilbur is survived by his sisters; Lavern Bretl, Two Rivers, Marion Tanck, Sturgeon Bay, Mildred (Walter) Denil, Forestville, Jeanette Fenendael, Algoma; sisters-in-law, Shirley Vandertie and Judy Vandertie; brothers-in-law, Jim and Verna Wautlet; and many nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by brothers. Richard (Rose), Raymond, Norbert (Kathleen), Alvin and Roy; sister, Bernice Walter; brothers and sisters-in-law, Vernon (Loretta) Wautlet and Norbert Wautlet. Also preceded in death by two infant brothers, Lindy and Baby Vandertie.Visitation will take place from 9-11 AM on Monday, May 8, 2017 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Lincoln. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM with Fr. Tony Birdsall and Deacon Paul Zenefski officiating.
