Wilbur O. Jones, 94Wilbur O. Jones of rural Delphi passed away on Dec. 10, 2016 in his home with his family at his side.Wilbur was born on Oct. 1, 1922 in Boone County, Indiana to the late Floyd E. and Mary Christina (Kincaid) Jones. He was a 1940 graduate of Sheridan High School. During
WWII, he served as a Corporal in the US Army from 1942-1944 as a tank gunner. He married Luella Mae Lowe on Jan. 30, 1944 in Sheridan, Indiana and she preceded him on Feb. 9, 2007.Mr. Jones worked as a mechanic for over 39 years for various John Deere dealerships in the area. He worked as the Service Manager for 20 of those years.He was a member of the Hickory Grove Church, and founding member of the Carroll County Antique Tractor Club, and member of their Wall of Fame and the Carroll County Ag Hall of Fame.He enjoyed working on and restoring John Deere tractors and antiques. He looked forward to the Tractor Drive every year on his birthday.He is survived by his children: Patricia Ann Jones (Bob) and Sandra Lou "Dusty" Davidson (Larry) both of Ridgefield, WA, Judy Kay Listenberger (Michel) of Niles, MI, Rick O. Jones (Teena) of Bringhurt, IN, Jack J. Jones (Betty) of Delphi, IN, Jeffery K. Jones (Irenda) of Lebanon, IN; sister, Nina Triesch of Atlanta, IN; 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. He was also preceded by 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.Viewing will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 and Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016 from 10:00 until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Davidson Funeral Home. Larry Davidson, Pastor Bill Godbey and Father Bob Williams officiating.
