MSCS Wilfred Reyes "Jake" Peregrino, USN (Ret.) GOOSE CREEK - "United States Navy Senior Chief Mess Specialist (MSCS) Wilfred Reyes "Jake" Peregrino, age 74, passed at MUSC Hospital in Charleston, SC, on December 3, 2016. The cause of death was complications from his brain tumor - lymphoma. MSCS Peregrino was born on January 12, 1942, in Kawit, Cavite, Philippines. He enlisted in the Navy in 1960, where he served for 23+ years followed by another 16 years with the Federal Government. He retired from Navy in 1987, where he and his family settled in Goose Creek, SC. Survivors include his beloved wife Esmaelinda, his three sons and their wives, Ezwil, Winford & Bernadette, Williams & Mary, and his three his grandchildren Anthony, Brandon and Elizabeth Peregrino. MSCS Peregrino's viewing will be held on 1p.m, Sunday, December 11, 2016, at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave, N. Charleston, SC. His funeral service mass is scheduled for 10a.m, December 12, 2016, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 510 St James Avenue, Goose Creek, SC. Burial procession and service will be held immediately following the funeral mass at 1230p.m, Monday, December 12, 2016 at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home.
