It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William E. McVicker, who departed this world on November 25, 2024, due to natural causes.

William, known to his friends as "Mac", was born on June 18, 1956, to his mother Barbara Messick in Santa Rosa, CA. His mother married his step dad James McVicker and took his last name. He leaves behind his loving spouse Dawn Freeman, whom he married in the year 2002.

He is survived by his four children: Barbara Nelson(Doug), Elmer McVicker(Kristy), Donnie McVicker, and Zachary Freeman. In addition, he leaves behind eight adoring grandchildren Emily, Tyler, Nolan, Landon, Trenton, Trinity, Hannah and Macey. Sister in law Colleen Rex, Brother in laws Glenn Freeman and Paul Freeman(Shannon).

William was a proud graduate of Grays Harbor College in 1999 where he received his CDL license. He proudly served in the US Army 1973- 1982 as a Master Sergeant and a medic. While stationed in South Korea he met his first wife Tok Sun and had 3 children. In 1990 he met his future wife Dawn Freeman and they had 1 child. He spent the rest his career owning his own business as a truck driver until his well-deserved retirement in 2022.

Outside of work, William had a passion for fishing, camping, and traveling to Laughlin, Reno and Las Vegas and random road trips. He also loved to cook for his family and friends - his favorite holiday was Thanksgiving. He loved putting puzzles together and watching wrestling and football with his family.

William will forever be remembered for his infectious laughter, larger-than-life personality, and his ability to always find the silver lining in any situation. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Memorial Service will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery on February 18th at 10:30am. In leu of flowers please send your love and support to our family during this difficult time. We will be creating a fundraiser for a memorial bench in honor of Mac later this year.

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the memorial. We will have a celebration of life in honor of our beloved Mac in Summer of 2025. More details to come.
