We are deeply saddened to announce that on September 16, 2023 William Arthur Moores 81, was given his wings to sail up to heaven, at his home in Lake Elsinore, California. He will be greatly missed.
Mr. Moores was born on August 10, 1942, in Long Beach, CA. Mr. Moores served in the United States Army as a rifleman during the Vietnam War, earning the rank of Specialist. He was deployed to Vietnam but his transport was diverted to Panama which spared him from combat and possibly saved him and his unit. He was stationed there until the end of the conflict and was honorable discharged.
He then sought out Danielle in Florida, who he knew since his teens. He courted her until they were married December 5. 1970 and they started a family.
He worked as a union Insulator until he retired. In his free time Bill loved the ocean, sailing , traveling, & spending time with his family.
He is survived by the love of his life Danielle Moores, His three children Kylie, Gregory, & Michelle, and their spouses, His 7 grandchildren, and his sister Barbara.
A few who have watched me sail away
Will miss my craft from the busy bay;
—Some friendly barks that were anchored near,
—Some loving souls that my heart held dear,
—In silent sorrow will drop a tear—
But I shall have peacefully furled my sail
In moorings sheltered from storm or gale,
—And greeted the friends who have sailed before
—O'er the Unknown Sea to the Unseen Shore
