William "Bill" BrandtCamarillo, CAWilliam "Bill" Brandt passed away peacefully at his home after a lengthy illness, surrounded by family, on April 20th, 2017 in Camarillo, California at the age of 80.Bill is survived by his former wife, Marti Brandt; children, Bruce Brandt (Tina), Marlene Keister, Valerie Bascom (Ken), Vicki Roy (Tony); siblings, Bob Brandt (Ruth) and Barbara Brandt; 9 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Herbert E. Brandt; mother, Crystal H. Brandt; and brother, Herbert E. "Bud" Brandt Jr.Bill was born on February 8th, 1937 in Highland Park, Michigan to Herbert and Crystal Brandt. Bill honorably served his country as a Personnel Specialist in the United States Air Force from 1957-1961. After moving to California, Bill began working for Southern California Edison in numerous positions, retiring as an Auditor. Bill was an avid amateur stock car racer with his father-in-law in the early 1960's and later shared his passion for racing with his son, Bruce, in the early 1990's. He had a passion for the performing arts, was an active member of the Screen Actors Guild and performed with the Conejo Players, Moorpark Melodrama and other community theaters in Ventura County. In addition to acting, Bill was a member of the Camarillo Arts Council, helping bring free concerts to the community. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother who valued family above all else. His family and friends enjoyed his witty sarcasm with his ability to always make you smile. Words often heard to describe him were: generous, strong, charismatic, proud, dedicated, selfless, loving, funny and a true gentleman. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. Services are scheduled on Sunday, April 30th, 2017 at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park, Chapel of the Hills; a Visitation at 1pm followed by Funeral at 2pm.
