MANCHESTER, MD William "Lyn" Britton, 75, died on Monday, July 28, 2014, at the family cabin in Hayward, WI. William Lindsay was born on June 22, 1939, in Upper Darby, PA to William Henry and Edna Lindsay Britton. He grew up in Pennsylvania and Maryland and graduated from Severna Park High School and Baltimore Junior College. Lyn was joined in marriage to Barbara Louise Post on June 27, 1970. Whether he was renovating or remodeling their historic stone home in Maryland, their 100 yr. old log cabin or working as an inspector for the State of Maryland until retirement and then Whitney, Bailey, Cox & Magnani to present, Lyn surrounded himself with his love of building. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed boating, classic cars, football and NASCAR. Lyn was a member of Shrewsbury Assembly of God in Shrewsbury, where he taught Sunday school for many years. Lyn is survived by his wife of 44 years Barbara Post Britton; two sons, William Lindsay "Britt" (Amber) Britton, Jr. of Mt. Lebanon, and Jeremy Post Britton of Cheswick; two grandsons, Daniel and Samuel; one sister, Judith (Alan) Stones of Calif.; one niece, two nephews and a great-niece. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service celebrating Lyn's life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 18, 2014, at Shrewsbury Assembly of God, North Main St., Shrewsbury.
