William Bryan “Bill” Lester, 83, of Hanover, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at his home.
He was born on February 10, 1939 in Hanover, WV a son of the late Lity and Pearlie Lester. He was of the Baptist faith.
Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he worked for Ford Motor Company in Ohio and was a disabled coal miner.
He loved going to church and sang bass in a gospel quartet. He also enjoyed carpentry work, restoring classic cars, hunting, and fishing. He loved outdoors and growing flowers and vegetables .
He created many background sets for Church plays , artist skills, drawing and creating .
He built many houses , churches, with his father and brothers .
He helped many people and would give the shirt off his back. He was a rare spirit and soul , loving , giving heart , kind and caring and humble.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by four sisters Agnes Alma, Lorene Kennedy, Addie Keaton and Patsy McMann, two brothers Delmas “Bo” Lester and Dallas “”Dorty” Lester and two half sisters Ruby Trent and Tazzie Lamar. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 57 years Dora Ann Waugh Lester, two daughters Millette Addison and husband Danny of Wythville, VA and Melinda Taylor and husband Darrell of Horsepen, WV, two grandsons Andrew and Matthew Addison, three granddaughters Megan, Madison and Myra Taylor, a great grandchild Liam Addison, a sister Dorothy Walker of Hanover, a brother Denver Lester and wife Virginia of Hanover, and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, December 14th at the Hanover House of Faith, Hanover, WV with Rev. Dennis Lester and Rev. James Ellis officiating. He will be laid to rest in Joe Point Cemetery, Hanover, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 12 pm until time of service on Wednesday at the church. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home.
He will be missed and loved dearly by all the ones who knew him or had been in some form touched by his life and love.
