GLEN ROCK William F. Dean, Jr., 68, died Monday, August 10, 2015 at his home. He was the loving husband to Roxanne M. (Gmeiner) Dean who he shared 42 years of marriage with on September 22. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main St., Glen Rock, is assisting the family. Bill was born on June, 6, 1947 in Baltimore County, a son of the late William F. Dean, Sr. and Noma A. (Bennett) Dean. Mr. Dean was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Germany during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Patapsco High School in 1965, attended Frostburg State University, Maryland, and received a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Baltimore. He retired from the State of Maryland where he worked for the Department of Human Relations and the Department of Parole and Probation for 30 years. He was a bag piper for many local pipe bands including Baltimore Police Emerald Society, the Kiltie Band of York, Loch Raven Pipe Band and Ceòl Nèamh Pipe Band. He was a member of the Hopewell Fish and Game Association (Rifle Club), Stewartstown. He enjoyed putting together and collecting model tanks and had a vast interest in military history. Besides his wife he leaves two daughters, Brownynn H. Dean of Eugene, Ore. and Rhianna L. Dean of Lancaster; three grandchildren, Maize Bianchi, Marposi "Rosie" Bianchi and Nalua Manois; and a sister, Mary Lochbaum of Jefferson.
