On Sunday, July 7, 2024 William Dennis, Jr. passed away at the age of 81 in Chicago, Illinois. William was born on December 29, 1943 to William Dennis, Sr. and Alice Harmon.

Dennis (as he preferred to be addressed) married Maggie L. Long in 1968 and they were blessed with four children: Cynthia, Gregory (preceded in death), David and Creasie. He was also a beloved grandfather to 13 grandchildren.

Dennis attended Crane High School and went on to serve in the United States Air Force as a Sergeant/Military Policeman. After his military service, he worked in Janitorial/Maintenance until his retirement in 2008.

Dennis was known for his dedication to fitness and was always encouraging his family to stay active and healthy with a POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE. He will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and unwavering love for his family.

Dennis is survived by his wife Maggie, his children Cynthia, David (Nancy), and Creasie, sister-in-law Onnie Dennis, nephews Kenneth Jr. and Ezzard (Nikki), daughter in love JoAnne, grandsons Darius, Shannon, Eddie, Marcus, Marquel, Dionte' and Darvis, granddaughters Jaala, Davida, Damita, Marq'ita and Chanel and a host of great-grandchildren.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
