William Edmond Ropp1935-2017William Edmond Ropp, 81, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2017. He was born on June 20, 1935 in Indianapolis, IN. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from
Purdue University in 1962 and was a retired Chemical Engineer spending his career in Polymers and Plastics at Dow Chemical, Tenneco, Pawnee Plastics, Shenandoah Plastics and Uniroyal Plastics. William retired as Plant Manager and Quality Assurance Manager at the Rome, GA plant in 2000. William was a member of the Society of Plastics Engineers, Inc., and the American Chemical Society. He served eight years in the Naval Reserves.While attending Purdue University, he played varsity basketball. He was an avid golfer and loved to fish and was an amazing husband, father, brother and grandfather.William was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.He was preceded in death by his sons, William Michael and Scott Allen Ropp.His survivors include his wife, Frances Emanuele Kahler Ropp of Pensacola; daughters, Teresa Ann Birt (Brad) of New Weston, OH and Patricia Ropp-Larsen (Neil); sons, Jeffrey Ropp and Tim Dean Ropp (Lecia) all of Cleveland, OH; a step-daughter, Christine Fetcho (Tom); step-son, Dale Kahler all of Erie, PA; grandchildren, Matthew, Maria, Nicolas, Tyler and Nicole; brother, Lee Ropp of Pensacola; brother-in-law, Michael Emanuele (Patty) of Orange, TX and sisters-in-law, Debby Greziak of Pensacola and Susan Briggs of Mercer, PA.A Celebration of Life will be held 2pm Saturday, January 28, 2017 at First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ (Langley & Goodrich), Pensacola, FL.Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Dean Ropp, Jeffrey Ropp, Tyler Ropp, Michael Emanuele, Lee Ropp and Matthew Fetcho.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to charity.
