William "Bill" Ernest Snyder, 74, of Charlotte, NC passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC. He was born on July 28, 1942 in Charlotte, NC and was the son of the late Louis Franklin and Leo Esther Snyder. He was a Master Craftsman and was employed with the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System for 32 years. He was a real Renaissance Man, lover of architecture, music, the natural world and most of all, spending time with his beloved wife Cynthia. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Cynthia Johnson Snyder; son, William Todd Snyder and wife Cheryl of Montavello, AL; daughter, Cynthia Snyder McCollum and husband "J. C."; step-son Chris Barker and wife Jennifer, and great-grandson Luke; sister, Betty Darnell of Mint Hill; three grandchildren, Will Snyder, Courtney and Connor McCollum; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his former wife and mother of his children, Patricia Snyder, and a brother, Edward Snyder. A Memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at 5:00 PM. at James Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carol Anne Lawler officiating.
