William Farrell "Bill" Conner, age 74 of Fayetteville, began eternal life in his heavenly home on Friday,
Aug 4, 2023. He was born January 7, 1949, in Batesville, AR to William Farrell Conner and Norma Rae Welborn Conner. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Faune Cook Conner and his daughter Jennifer Conner Baugh and Justin of Fayetteville. He is also survived by two granddaughters, Brittany Graham (Jeffery) and Brooks Baugh of Little Rock; and two great grandchildren Jeffery and Jennasis Graham; brother and sister-in-law Robert (Carolyn) Cook of El Dorado, and Mary Pat (Aubra)Anthony of El Dorado as well as sister Sue Conner Vogele of North Little Rock, nephew Robert Vogele of Benbrook, TX and nieces Melissa Hale and Julie Vogele of North Little Rock, cousin Misti Thompson of Phoenix, AZ, cousins Tim and Lori Marks of Fayetteville. Bill also held his dear friends Charlie Stuttle, Brian Huddleston, Laura Hokett, Lance and Mary House, Gerald and Elizabeth Jordan, Jason and Amber Eddie and Evan and Emily Austin family as well.
Bill graduated from Batesville High School in 1966 and from the University of Arkansas in 1970 with a degree in journalism and speech. As a six-year-old youngster he had the honor of being on the cover of LIFE magazine when they did a feature story on the special relationship between him and hisgrandfather. Later, at nine years old, he starred in a television pilot film "The Amazing Adventures of My Dog Sheppy" that was filmed in Stone County. Bill's life work career included time as a reporter for the Tulsa Tribune, a writer for United Press International and a reporter for Channel 7 in Little Rock. In 1972 he began his career in the poultry industry with Tyson Foods. He later opened Ozark Marketing, Inc., a poultry brokerage which he operated for 40 years.
Besides traveling the world, one of his lifelong loves was music and he and fellow friends/musicians met every Thursday night at his home for their beloved Garage Band.
A celebration of Bill's life will be held Thursday, Aug 10 at 1 pm at St Joseph's Catholic Church, 1722 N Starr Drive in Fayetteville. Father Mike Sinkler will officiate.
