William (Bill) Frank HenningThe Villages, FLWilliam (Bill) Frank Henning, of The Villages, Florida, passed away quietly and peacefully on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Cornerstone Hospice House. His loving wife of 23 years, Jacqueline Henning, held his hand as he took his final breath and entered into the next life. Bill was born on February 16, 1937, to the late Henry and Josephine Henning in Detroit, MI. He served as an Altar Boy at the Catholic Church, and received his GED from Detroit High School. In July 1954, Bill entered the United States
Army. He served in the
Korean Conflict, and was stationed in Germany. Returning from overseas, Bill enrolled in Detroit Engineering School, while working full-time with the Ford Motor Company at night. He earned his Engineering degree and became the owner of Henning Tile & Marble Co. Bloomfield Hills, MI. Over time, Bill's company expanded, and went beyond the borders of Detroit. His business even had a location on Marco Island, Florida. Bill loved Marco Island, and moved there in May of 2000. He then decided to move to The Villages, Florida in April 2011. Bill was an active individual and loved being around people. While living in Sylvan Lake, MI, he was involved with the Oakland County Building Commission and Sylvan Lake Boat Club. When he moved to Marco Island, he was a part of Marco Island Sports Fishing Club and New Life Church; and in The Villages, he participated as a Volunteer Walking Exercise Leader at Sterling Heights Recreation Center (2011-2016), the African American Club and The Villages of Faith. Bill was well known for his love of fishing, poker, and dancing. Bill will always be remembered as an energetic, fun-loving, devoted husband, father, friend, and nieghbor.He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jacqueline D. Flowers-Henning, of The Villages; former wife of 38 years, Shirley Ann Henning of Farmington Hills, MI; daughters, Sherie Eschels (Randy), of Bloomfield, MI; Shannon Seeney-Graham (Sidney), of Farmington Hills, MI; Kelly Sakalian (Philip), of West Bloomfield, MI; sons, William "Bill" Frank Henning, Jr. (Rhoda), of Wixom, MI; Michael "Mike" Henning (Kim), of Farmington Hills, MI; step-son, Brian R. Flowers, of Royal Oak, MI; siblings, Barbara Bako of Wyandotte, MI; Hank "Jack" Henning (Shawn), of Crossville, TN; grandchildren, Matthew, Mark, Luke, Thomas, Philip Jr., Daniel, Andrew, Ryan, Christopher, Jordan, Andrea, Garett, Erin; and great-grandchildren, Jackson Lawrence Seeney and Norah Rene Seeney.Bill was preceded in death by his father, Henry Carl Henning; mother, Josephine Mary Wright: and sister, Deloris Tarpinian.A family inurnment to take place at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in William F.
