William H. Wallace, III, 72, of Montrose, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015 after an extended illness in the presence of his loving family, at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. His wife of 48 years, Stella D. (Mrofcza) Wallace predeceased him. He was born on April 6, 1943 in Norristown, to the late William H. Jr. and Letitia C. (Hynes) Wallace. William is survived by his two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carole and Donald Hibbard, Montrose, Joyce and Paul Jennings, Montrose; sisters-in-law and spouses, Fran and Walt Lewis, Newark, Del., Clara Carey, Clarks Summit; special nephew, Andrew Arnold; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by his half-brother, Donald G. Wallace.Bill grew up in Collegeville, and graduated from the Valley Forge Military Academy. He wore many hats, he worked and raised Thoroughbreds and he raced them at both Philadelphia Park and Delaware Park. He enjoyed farming and was also an auctioneer. He loved to laugh and had a lot of stories; he especially enjoyed sharing stories of his travel across the United States with his wife Stella. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially around the holidays. He was always a strong man and he raised his nephew Andy like his own son. Bill loved the Lord and attended the Dimock Community Church.Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2015 at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home, Montrose, with the Rev. Richard Spering and Pastor Michael Jayne officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Rosencrants Cemetery, Dimock Twp.
