On November 19, 2016, William John Barton, 66, while surrounded by loved ones in his home, was called to his final resting place in the arms of the Lord. Known to all as Bill, William was born on January 30, 1950. He was a fun, loving, generous person continuing into his adulthood when he joined the United States
Army. Once in the service he surveyed roads in Vietnam, and also drove tanks while stationed in Fort Hood, Texas. He served our country from 1967-1970. On February 6, 1971, William married the love of his life, Laura Richardson, from Corry, Pa. He worked and retired from Snap-Tite in Union City for 30+ years, was an active contributing member of Parade Street UMC for many years, where his family attended for most of his life. He enjoyed collecting/selling sports cards and memorabilia, stamps, music, and movies. When Bill was not enjoying his numerous hobbies he spent the rest of his time with his family doing activities such as playing cards and Aggravation. William is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Barton; grandson, Michael Bolvin; and sister-in-law, Donna Barton. He is survived by his father, John Barton; his wife, Laura; and two daughters, Crystal Canfield (Todd) and Sandi Wright (Mike); three brothers, five sisters, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, aunts and uncles, and several nieces and nephews. William will be greatly missed by all, but for those who were near and dear to his heart know he has and never will truly be gone; he has just been shown the path to his true home and final resting place.
