William Bill Joseph Myers LUBBOCK-William Bill Joseph Myers, 88, of Lubbock passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016. Mr. Myers was born on May 19, 1928, in Canyon, Texas, to the late William Calvin Eunice (Bozarth) Myers. He married Dorothy Myers on Aug. 29, 1952, in San Diego, CA. Mr. Myers was a very proud member of the United States Navy from 1949-1952 where he served during the Korean War. He had taken the test to enroll in West Point, but while waiting for the results he decided to enlist in the Navy, and was deployed. It wasn't until he was at sea that he learned he had been accepted to West Point. Mr. Myers was a faithful member of Highland Baptist Church, a very talented wood carver, fisherman, and plumber. He taught apprentice plumbers most of his life. Most of all Mr. Myers was a very loving family man. He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother; and one sister. Those left to cherish Bill's memory are his loving wife, Dorothy; son, Wes Myers; and daughter, Denise McCarty. Mr. Myers was also blessed with four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Services for Mr. Myers will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, at Highland Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
