WILLIAM 'BILL' KINZIG, 82 FREEPORT - William "Bill" Kinzig, 82, of Freeport died Friday, March 29, 2013, at FHN Memorial Hospital. He was born on November 18, 1930 in Freeport, the son of Edward and Evelyn (Cheeseman) Kinzig. Bill was the owner and operator of Kinzig T.V. and Repair for over 40 years. Bill married Rosemary Medley on March 31, 1951, in Freeport. He was a Korea War Veteran from 1951-1953. Bill was a devoted family man and friend who always had a kind word and helping hand. He was a talented craftsman who loved spending time with his friends and family. Survivors include his wife, Rosemary of Freeport; one son, Michael (Carrie) Kinzig of Chicago; four daughters, Mary Ann (Larry) Truckenmiller of Pekin, IL., Jeanne Dahm of Freeport, Kim Groves of Garland, TX and Michelle Kinzig of Orlando, FL.; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Gerrietts, Adam Truckenmiller, Jeff Dahm, Karla Groves, Kyle Groves, Kurt Groves, and Madeline Kinzig; three great grandchildren, Olivia Gerrietts, Anna Gerrietts and McKenna Groves. Bill was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, at Burke-Tubbs. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, at Burke-Tubbs. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for St. Jude Children's Hospital. Bill's family will miss him dearly.
