In Loving Memory of William John Pomiber SGM US
Army (Ret.) Age 91, William passed away peacefully on Sunday October 15, 2017 in Lakewood, Washington. He was born on May 24, 1926 to Thomas and Alice Pomiber in Troy, New York. William was a veteran of
WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He served honorably as a dedicated soldier from 1943 to 1973 and received a
Bronze Star Medal, retiring at the rank of Sergeant Major. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Sonja (Thiele) from Mannheim, Germany; and lovingly remembered by daughters Karen and Sonja, and son John. He was OPA to grandchildren Brandon, Kevin, and Natasha, and has seven great-grandchildren. He was loved by many, and will be missed by everyone who knew him. Memorial services were held at New Tacoma Cemetery's Evergreen Chapel on Wednesday, October 25, 2017. Burial with military honors was held at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th Street, Kent, WA 98042.
