William Ray Mason, 88, of Ankeny, Iowa passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017. A visitation will be held 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, March 28 at Ankeny Memorial Funeral Home (4208 North Ankeny Blvd). Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 29th with a visitation 1 hour prior to the service, at the Elkhart Christian Church (252 NW Washington Ave., Elkhart, IA). Burial will follow at the Elkhart cemetery.William (Bill) was born on September 22, 1928 in Des Moines, IA. He graduated from Ankeny High School in 1946 and served in Korea. Upon discharge from the army, he married Mavis F. Parmenter and lived and farmed in rural Elkhart, IA. In later years, he lived in Ankeny, IA and after his first wife's death, he remarried to Shirley A. Hudson. Those left to cherish his memories are one sister Alice Mason Donahoe; one brother Robert (Norma) Mason and family; children, Larry (Diane) Mason and family; Kari (Jim) Roth and family; and Shirley Hudson Mason children and families.Preceding Bill's death are his parents, 2 brothers, infant sister, Mavis Parmenter Mason, and Shirley Hudson Mason.
