William G. Ross, Esq., 82, of West Palm Beach Florida, and formerly of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 6, 2016, at Arden Court in Allentown. He was born on March 5, 1934 to the late Maude B. Ross. Bill was a graduate of Jamestown High School and a 1961 graduate of Allegheny College, where he received a scholarship in 1957. He also attended Temple University, where he graduated with his law degree in 1964. He honorably served his country in the US Army. Bill served as a Moot Court Judge, and was a past president of the Northampton County Bar Assoc. He was a certified trial attorney for 45 years. He was also a member of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the Commonwealth Court of Appeals of Pennsylvania, the 3rd Circuit U.S. Federal Court, and the Superior Court of Pennsylvania. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Easton. Bill enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Brookside Country Club in Macungie. He also enjoyed playing tennis, and loved horses, and horseback riding. He was an avid skier, and enjoyed skiing in Colorado. Bill ran and finished 8 marathons, including Philadelphia, New Jersey, Washington, New York, Kutztown, Harrisburg, and others. He also enjoyed mountain climbing. He climbed several mountains in Colorado, and also climbed 11,000 feet on Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa, 19,800 feet on Mt. Rainier, 14,000 feet on Mt Washington, 24,308 feet on Aconcagua in Chile, and 19,000 feet on Kanchenjunga in Nepal. He traveled to over 30 countries all over the world. Survivors: daughter Kirsten Ross-Hillard and her husband Jack of Bethlehem; son Tobin Ross of Bethlehem. He was predeceased by his son Tucker Ross in 2001, and his former wife Susan (Tucker) Ross in 2004. Services: A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday December 13, 2016 at the Long Funeral Home, Inc., 500 Linden St. Bethlehem, where the family will receive relatives and friends for one hour prior to the service.
