William "Bill" A. Swain, 76, of St. Cloud who passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017 at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center. The East Side VFW Post #4847 will honor their fallen comrade at 7:00 p.m.William Andrew Swain was born on June 14, 1940 in Ladysmith, WI to Herbert and Nellie (Wilson) Swain. Bill lost both of his parents at a very young age and was raised by his foster parents, Howard and Hazel Kezar. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1958 - 1961. Bill was united in marriage to Dorothy Birk on May 27, 1970. He worked in construction for many years and was also a semi-truck driver. Bill was a Boy Scout leader for several years and a life member of the St. Cloud East Side VFW Post #4847. He was a former member of the Cold Spring VFW Post #6195, where he served as Quarter Master for some time. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, reading and biking. He was very caring, loving, family oriented and had a great sense of humor.Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Dorothy of St. Cloud; daughter, Pamela (Troy) Longbrake of Elkhart, IN; brothers, Rev. Edward (Lois) Kezar of Eden, NC, James Swain of Durand, WI and Donald (Sandy) Swain of Fort Collins, CO; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
