William Thomas Cross SchmidtFort Pierce, FLWilliam Thomas Cross Schmidt, age 68, recently passed away in Fort Pierce, FL.He was born on September 27, 1948 in Long Branch, NJ. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles F. and Alma C. Schmidt, and sister, Alma L. Schmidt.William proudly served his country in Vietnam. He was a helicopter specialist providing reinforcement to the U.S. Army Air Corps. He later became a long distance truck driver for Deakins, Inc. William liked being near the water. He often spent time at the Fort Pierce Inlet and at the beach. He also enjoyed time spent in the mountains of N.C. Another favorite pastime was going on long bike rides.Survivors include his son, William T.C. French and wife, Alexia, brother, Charles F. Schmidt IV, and sisters, Adele Lowe, Elaine Wouters and husband, Michael, Robin Turner and husband, Charles, and many nieces and nephews.A private service will be held.
