Smith has layed down the cares of this world while resting in Maryview Hospital Portsmouth,VA. From there, he picked up his new wardrobe and golden keys for his everlasting life in Heaven.
The Glorious and Triumphant Life Celebration events have been methodically orchestrated and will proceed in the following order. Beginning on Saturday, October 23,2021 between the evening hours of 6pm and 8pm a public gathering will come forth as Reverend William T. Smith lies in a tranquil repose at Fittchet Mann Funeral Home Chapel Chesapeake, VA. On Sunday, October 24, 2021 being called to order promptly at 11am the Angelic Obsequies fit for Heaven’s Royal Priesthood will take place at Grove Baptist Church Portsmouth, VA. At the conclusion of the Triumphant “Send Off”, Pastor Smith along with adored relatives will be escorted to his earthly waiting room called Roosevelt Memorial Park until his name is called to receive his crown of Righteousness . For many years this man of God has preached the word of God and drew sinners to a saving God. Now all can find peace knowing he is now sitting at the welcome table hearing the Master say “Well-Done” thou good and faithful servant, you have been faithful over the things on earth, now I will make you ruler over many.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Brenda Boone-Smith of Portsmouth, VA; two daughters Phyllis A. Holley of Chesapeake, VA and Amy L. Johnson (Henry) of Tampa, FL; two sisters Margie Wingate of NY and Mable Swinton (Ray) of Portsmouth, VA; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; two aunts Madgie S. White of Portsmouth, VA and Mary Johnson of Richmond, VA. He was predeceased in death by his daughter Pamela E. Barnard (Charles) and one brother Lonnie C. Smith (Carolyn) and host of devoted family and friends.
He lived his life with this in mind…. “If I can help somebody along the way than my living won’t be in vain.”
