William Tom Smiddy, Jr., age 56, of Benton, passed away Friday, Jan. 22 at home with family. He was born on Nov. 6, 1959 in LaFollette; and he was the son of William Tom Smiddy, Sr. and Polly Ellen Rains Smiddy.Tom was a retail manager for Love's Travel Stops for ten years, and he enjoyed lutherie, leather crafts, model building, painting, music, and an avid reader.He was preceded in death by his mother, Polly Ellen Rains Smiddy.Survivors include his father, Tom Smiddy, Sr. and Lavonne Smiddy of Swan River, Minn.; siblings, Mona Leisa Belgrave of Maplewood, Minn.; Tim and Joy Smiddy of Sherwood, Ark.; Melody and Jerry Daley of Jacobson, Minn.; his children, William Tom Smiddy, III and Sarah Smiddy of Arlington, Wash.; Adam Smiddy of Cheyenne, Wyo. and Jessica Smiddy of Little Rock, Ark.; grandchildren, Emma; Emilee; Liam and Joshua and numerous nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be at 6 p.m., Friday, Jan. 29 at Huson Funeral Home Chapel at 7700 Hwy. 107, Sherwood, Ark. with interment following at a later date at Sago Cemetery in Swan River, Minn.Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 28 at Huson Funeral Home in Sherwood.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital at 800 Marshall St., Little Rock, Ark., 72202.Huson Funeral Home in Arkansas is in charge of arrangements.
