Dr. William "Bill" Waldo Skeen M.D., 86, of Mooresville, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at his home in Mooresville, NC.He was born on July 27, 1930 to the late Thomas and Lorena Stubbs Skeen in Biscoe, NC. Bill was a 1948 graduate of Biscoe High School, he earned his A.B in Zoology from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1955, and his M.D. from George Washington University in 1960.Bill completed his internship in 1961 at City Memorial Hospital in Winston Salem, followed by a rotation in Medicine and Pediatrics in 1662. He practiced in Denver, NC from 1962 to 1967. Bill moved to Mooresville in 1967 and became owner of Mooresville Family Practice where he practiced until his retirement in 2000.Bill was a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Korean War.He was a very active member of First Presbyterian Church of Mooresville. Bill was an avid Tarheels fan and will be rooting for them in the Final Four this year. He was an avid downhill skier and duck hunter, and had hiked portions of the Appalachian Trail.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Brother, McDuffy "Duffy" Brown Skeen.Bill is survived by his Wife of over 26 years, Terry Skeen, whom he married March 9, 1991; Son, William McDuffy "Mackie" Skeen and wife Kim of Pittsboro; Daughter, Laura Skeen Archer of Greensboro; Two Granddaughters, Macie and Katherine Skeen; Grandson, Wright R. Archer, IV.A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017, 2:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Mooresville with Jason Sentas officiating.Visitation: The family will receive friends immediately following the service at First Presbyterian Church.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Mooresville 249 West McLelland Ave Mooresville NC 28115.Carolina Cremation is honored to serve the family of Bill Skeen.
