Deacon Willie C. Clark, (aka Slick) 91, a resident of Brunswick, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016.He was born on March 15, 1925, in Richmond Hill to the late Sam and Madena Clark. He received his early education from Bryan County Schools. At an early age, he was baptized and became a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Richmond Hill.On Jan. 26, 1945, Willie married Byrdell Lee and they soon thereafter relocated to Brunswick. Willie retired from Atlantic Coastline Railroad and Concrete Products. He was a longtime member of First Bryan Baptist Church and later became a member of The Sanctuary Baptist Church, both in Brunswick. Deacon Clark served faithfully, until his death in many capacities of the ministry, including a deacon and an usher.Deacon Clark was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 71 years, Mrs. Byrdell Lee Clark of Brunswick; one son Jihad (Amena) Muhummad aka Bobby Clark of Atlanta; four grandsons, Jeffery Clark Jr. of Atlanta, Jamara Clark of Brunswick, Brandon Davis of Atlanta and Wendell Kel Morton of Brunswick; one brother, Eddie (Jackie) Miller of Richmond Hill; three sisters, Mrs. Priscilla Walthour of Hinesville, Mrs. Rosa Australia Davis of Richmond Hill and Mrs. Mayona Miller of Saint Albans, New York; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Bernice Bacon of Midway; two brothers-in-law, Mr. Simon (Darlene) Lee of Newark, New Jersey, and Mr. Herman Teachey of Richmond Hill; extended family and dear friends; the Carroll family, Mrs. Cornelia Douglas, Mr. Norman Walker and Mr. Jack McClow, all of Brunswick; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at Prudence Hall Chapel of Hall Jones and Brown Funeral Home, 2005 G St., Brunswick. His home-going service will be at noon Saturday, Oct. 8, at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 200 Daniel Siding Loop Road, Richmond Hill. Interment will be at Woodsville Cemetery in Richmond Hill. Hall Jones and Brown Funeral Home is in charge of the services.
