Willie Edward WhittenMemphis, TNWillie Edward "Eddie" Whitten was born on November 17, 1942 in Crenshaw Mississippi to the late Floyd Jones (Father) and Willie D. Whitten (Mother). Eddie accepted Lord Jesus Christ at an early age. Eddie attended Memphis City Schools and then went on to serve his Country in the United States
Army as a sharpshooter (Rifle M-14) Specialist. Eddie was honorably discharged. Eddie attended Draughons College and majored in Mechanical Engineering. After 33 years of dedicated service at MacSteel on Presidents Island, Eddie retired. Eddie was preceded in death by his father, mother and one brother, Willie James Whitten, and one daughter, Carla Blue. Eddie passed away Monday, August 7, 2017 at his daughter's home, Stacie Whitten McWay and Maurice McWay. Eddie leaves to cherish his memory two very, very special women, eleven children, Stacie Whitten(Maurice), Jewel Whitten (Terry), Shirley Wainwright (James), Melana Mack, Tamika Whitten Brewer (Kenyata), Tony Whitten, Michael Whitten, Teresa Whitten, Bridgette Whitten, Tiffany Whitten, Jackie Whitten.Surviving sisters, Katherine Wimberly, Chicago, IL and Ann Thomas, Corinth, AR and a special aunt, Verlean Riddle. A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.Services, 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 15 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 918 Looney Avenue, Memphis, 38107, Pastor O.C.Collins Jr. officiating. Interment in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Road, Germantown, TN 38116.
