Willie Mae Jennings was born on September 25, 1928 to Rebecca and Abraham Donald in Newton, Missisppi. She was one of seven children, five girls and two boys. Willie Mae married Titus Evans and from that union, Rebecca and Dorothy were born. Willie Mae was preceded in death by Titus and moved to Chicago, IL. After pursuing a career, she married Haywood Jennings and from that union, Hoza and Deneen were born.
Willie Mae was a loving, gracious and compassionate Christian that cared for her family and attended church in her remaining years. This includes her being the consistent babysitter for her grandchildren throughout these years. She even resigned from her job so that her daughters could pursue their careers with greater ease, not having to worry about childcare.
Willie Mae leaves the following to cherish her memory: three daughters (Rebecca, Dorothy, Deneen), one son (Hoza/Deborah), grandchildren (Roy, Anthony, Derrick, James/Bree, Mary, Samantha), great-grandchildren (Jayden, Franklin), sisters (Marie, Allie), aunt (Bonnie), a sister of the heart (Willie Mae), cousins and a host of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, Titus, Haywood, her sisters (Ellisteen, Iola), her brothers (Abraham Jr, Mayo).
